Being history buffs — both are friends of Christchurch’s Ferrymead Heritage Park — the Larnach ball was a great chance to enjoy the castle’s ballroom, as it was intended to be used.
People came from one end of the country to the other to attend this year’s sold-out ball: the Otago Daily Times met guests from Warkworth and Mataura among the 120 present.
The event had guests attired in Victorian costumes and tartans, being entertained by a ceilidh band.
