The official opening of the Leaning Lodge Hut was celebrated at the hut atop the Rock and Pillar Range, near Middlemarch, on Saturday.
The hut is 1220m above sea level and is expected to attract many trampers and recreationists throughout the year.
Leaning Lodge Trust chairman John Cocks said there had been two previous iterations of the lodge, and this one — the third — had taken trust members two years to complete at a cost just under $200,000. PHOTO: LEANING LODGE TRUST
