Hospice OpShop Mosgiel doubled the size of its retail operation yesterday by opening a second store just a few doors away on Gordon Rd.

Shop supervisor Tina Tunster said the shop had also changed from using the Butterflies brand and was now calling both shops Hospice OpShop Mosgiel.

The new shop would stock furniture, books, CDs and bric-a-brac while the old store would stock second-hand clothing, jewellery and other fashion-related items.

Mrs Tunster said they had already received lots of great donations from the public but had room to stock more now.

More good quality furniture items would be welcome and would help in the quest to find the $1.6 million that the hospice needed each year from the public.

Opportunity shopping is a popular pastime in Mosgiel and the shop was always busy with browsers or people on a particular shopping mission, Mrs Tunster said.
