The police investigation of an armed robbery of a dairy continued in Dunedin yesterday.
A police spokeswoman said cash and cigarettes were stolen from the Tainui Store in Cavell St just before 7.45pm on Thursday.
As of last night, no-one had been arrested.
Store staff member Jian Zhang said she was alone in the dairy when a masked woman and masked man entered the shop.
Both of them were dressed in dark clothing, she said.
"The girl was holding a gun."
The pistol was never pointed directly at her during the robbery, she said.
The pair instructed her to open the cash register and the cabinet with tobacco and remain still.
"They took all the cash and some smokes," but she was unsure of the amounts.
Earlier this month, a woman with a red scarf covering part of her face walked into the Halfway Bush Convenience Store and pointed a pistol at the store owner but did not take anything.
The police spokeswoman said it was too early to say if the two incidents were linked and police were "keeping an open mind".
