Dunedin could still be in with a chance of having two Green Party MPs after the election in November.

The party released its revised list yesterday.

It puts Francisco Hernandez, who is standing for the Dunedin seat, at 10 on the party list.

Meanwhile, Taieri MP Scott Willis is at 15, but will need a bit of luck to return to Parliament after the election — the Greens will need to reach at least 12.5% for this to happen.

In the 2023 general election, the Greens gained 11.6 % of the vote.

The Green’s co-leaders, Marama Davidson and Chloe Swarbrick, take the first and second positions respectively, while assistant Speaker of the House Teanau Tuiono is in third spot.

Mr Hernandez was pleased with his position on the list.

"Dunedin and Aotearoa needs a real government of Green change that will tackle the cost of a corporate greed crisis and put people and planet first.

"It’s a real honour to be on this list of amazing and dedicated candidates that will be fighting hard every day to make that happen. I am looking forward to continuing my mahi and standing with the people of Dunedin against cuts to our critical public services by successive governments."

Mr Willis said he was looking forward to an "electric" campaign, particularly now he was the party’s energy and resources spokesman.

"Electrification is the issue we will take to the election and I am pleased to have delivered a plan to ensure we become an energy independent nation. My purpose is to deliver it in my second term as part of a dynamic Green team.

"Alongside energy, I’ll be working to deliver a healthy and vibrant science ecosystem."

The general election takes place on November 7.
