Intersection crashes 'flat out' in Dunedin

Yet another crash caused by a motorist running a red light has sparked a plea from Dunedin police.

A car that stopped suddenly to avoid hitting a car that ran a red light at the intersection of St David St and Cumberland St was rear-ended at 10.30am yesterday.

Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen said intersection crashes were "flat out occurring'' across Dunedin.

"If it's an orange, do your best to stop, unless obviously it's unsafe to do so.''
