When Ruth Macintosh left her Andersons Bay house with 4-year-old Lacey for a bike ride to Port Chalmers and back yesterday, there was brilliant sunshine and temperatures reaching 23.1°C at 2pm. But within an hour, the mercury plummeted to just 16°C and there was wind and rain as a front moved over the Otago region. While it made for a slightly unpleasant ride back, Lacey still loved it. "She won’t let me leave the house without her," Ms Macintosh said.
