A Ravensbourne man has been taken to Dunedin Hospital with serious injuries after falling from the roof of his house this afternoon.
A St John spokesman said the man was "washing'' the roof when he fell about 2.20pm.
Ambulance staff were assisted by firefighters from the Ravensbourne Fire Station.
