New library, same community

Dunedin Public Art Gallery director Cam McCracken speaks at the opening of the new South Dunedin Community Library on Saturday. 

Director of library services Sarah Gallagher said it was amazing and quite overwhelming to be standing at the opening of the new library. 

She wanted to thank all the artists that had worked to "imbue" the library with a "stunning cultural narrative" connecting the landscape with the people.

"I hope everyone will come here and feel a real sense of ownership and will be inspired to come here and learn, play and experiment." 

The library had lots of unique spaces including a recording studio.
