Sale convener Carol-Anne Buchanan said people were lining up to get into the sale at the Taieri A&P Showgrounds’ pavilion yesterday.
About 200 people had been through the doors so far — there was appeal in getting a deal, she said.
"We make some money for our local community and people walk away with a bargain."
"It's a big effort by a bunch of retirees, really, and supporters."
The Rotary Club of Taieri asked for donations about six weeks before the event and received enough to fill the pavilion.
Ms Buchanan said the proceeds would likely go towards the club’s cycling and walking tracks, being built with the Taieri Lions Club.
The sale continues today, from 9am to 2pm.
