The street frontage in lower High St is ready to take on a new look as work continues apace on the main structure for Dunedin’s new Accident Compensation Corporation building on its angular site between High and Dowling Sts.

After the Standard Insurance, and Sargood, Son & Ewen buildings were demolished in 1969, the site was used as a carpark.

A Ngāi Tahu Property spokeswoman said the main building structure was expected to be completed in the first quarter of this year.

The development of the roof structure was under way and facade works would begin next month, she said.

"The building structure work is progressing well at the ACC Ōtepoti project."

"Based on its current progress, Ōtepoti is expected to stay on track for completion in mid-2025."
