The Otago Girls' High School pupil is among a handful of secondary pupils across the country who will attempt the rare and mentally gruelling feat this year, by sitting NCEA level 3 classics, New Zealand Scholarship physics and New Zealand Scholarship French - all on November 22.
''My classics exam will be put forward to 7am, so I'll have to be at school by 6.50am.
''I'm going to have to get up quite early for the exam, but I'm also going to have to get into the groove of doing work at 7am.
''So I'm going to be getting up early every day to study at that time.
''I think it will help, knowing exactly what I want to write and not be completely thrown off when I get into the exams.''
She said the biggest question on the day would be how she would get through all three exams without mental and physical fatigue wearing her down.
Energy drinks are not permitted in the exam room. Just water.
''I'm not 100% sure how I'll cope with the fatigue later in the day.
''I'm just going to eat well and have lots of water.''
Hayley said she knew the exams would all fall on the same day when she enrolled in the courses at the start of the year.
''Initially I wasn't taking scholarship French. I was just doing classics and scholarship physics.
''I love French and I really wanted to do it because I'm going to study French at university next year.''
She said if she could write and speak French fluently under that kind of pressure, she would be ready to live in France.
The next morning, November 23, she sits NCEA level 3 calculus.
''I'm excited about sitting the exams. It will be a good way to finish high school with a bang. But I'm really looking forward to being able to just sleep and do nothing when I'm finished.''
