The Ministry of Health reported one death in the Southern region yesterday.
There were 475 new community cases of Covid-19 in the region, the ministry said in a statement yesterday afternoon.
Nationally, there were 5535 community cases, 720 admissions to hospital and 14 deaths, it said.
The seven-day rolling average of community case numbers yesterday was 8563.
The latest deaths took the total number of publicly reported deaths with Covid to 1990. The 14 people who died were all either in their 80s or 90s, 11 were women and three were men.
The seven-day rolling average of reported deaths was 24.
Nationally, 21 people were in intensive care or a high-dependency unit yesterday, the ministry said.
