A person was taken to hospital in serious condition after a truck rolled in the Dunedin suburb of Concord on Tuesday afternoon.

Hato Hone St John was notified at 3:07pm of the crash at the corner of Morton Street and Main South Road, a spokesman said.

"One ambulance responded to the scene.

"Our ambulance staff treated one patient and transported them to Dunedin Hospital in a serious condition.”

Police said the road was closed, and motorists should avoid the area if possible.
