The Otago University Students' Association has set aside $25,000 to provide students with Go Cards so they can take advantage of a discounted bus fare trial next year.
OUSA voted to set aside the funding at its latest executive meeting, after the Otago Regional Council recently agreed to run a two-month trial giving students a 25% discount on adult cash fares if they used a Go Card.
The trial, with cards subsidised or possibly given out free for students, will begin in Orientation Week and end in April.
