The discovery of a large haul of stolen property in a police raid on a Brockville home has spurred a burglary report from a Dunedin resident hopeful their stolen goods were found.
Senior Sergeant Trevor Thomson, of Dunedin, said the burglary of a garage on March 29 in Clariton Ave, Green Island was reported to police late this week, after the residents saw the large number of items police uncovered in the Brockville raid earlier this week.
"They lost . . . a Stihl weed-eater, a can of petrol and a Stihl leaf-blower," Snr Sgt Thomson said.
Also reported to police was the theft of three hot water cylinders which had been chopped in half to convert them to makeshift plant containers.
They were taken from the back of a Beresford St, Kaikorai home on Tuesday between 11am and 1pm.
