Police are hunting for the driver of a vehicle which left the scene after a pedestrian was struck in central Dunedin this afternoon.
Police were called to the scene after receiving reports of a car hitting a woman on George St about 2.10pm, a spokeswoman said.
The woman appeared to be "okay" but was taken to Dunedin Hospital for medical checks, she said.
The vehicle left the scene following the incident, but no other information was available yet.
"Police are making inquiries into the crash,'' she said.
