Power restored after Taieri outage

Power has been restored after an outage cut power to 1100 in the Taieri and Brighton areas today.

On its website Aurora said power was cut to 1100 customers at 8.47am.

On social media it said power had been restored to some customers, and it was bringing in generators to restore power to those still affected as it worked to fix the fault.

At about 3pm it said power was back on to all customers.

"Please note, work will continue on repairing the fault without interruption to customers, however there will be a short outage to remove the generation once the fault repairs are fully complete.

The outage affected customers in Mosgiel, Wingatui, Kinmont, East Taieri, North Taieri and Brighton.

The Otago Daily Times, has spoken to some customers whose power was restored about 11am.
