Award-winning entries to the University of Otago Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival Otago section came together for a showcase on Thursday night, when Shakespearean tragedy was mixed with a modern twist.

Shakespeare Globe Centre New Zealand Otago regional representative Debbie Vercoe said this year the performances had to be split up because of Covid-19, including moving the showcase to its own dedicated night.

ing’s High School was the overall winner for the 15-minute scene category and Kavanagh College won the five-minute scene category.

Both groups would travel to Wellington in June to perform at the nationals.
