Pupils selected for choir

Seven Dunedin singers have been selected for the 2017-18 New Zealand Secondary Students’ Choir for a New Zealand and overseas tour.

Scott Christie (Taieri College), Lillian Gibbs and Madeline Guthrie (St Hilda’s Collegiate), Alexander Grant and Taina Te Ngahue (Otago Boys’ High School), Aidan Hung (John McGlashan College) and Alexander McAdam (King’s High School) were selected for the prestigious national choir for secondary school pupils, after auditions in October.

The 60-strong choir is for pupils aged 13-18, and gathers each school holidays for a week of rehearsals and concerts throughout the country.

Every second year the choir tours to an international choir festival or competition.
