School's out for summer

About 600 Tahuna Normal Intermediate pupils exit the school gates yesterday, after their last day of classes for 2019.

For some, the start of the summer holidays was pure delight. But for others, like Zenah Taha (12), it was bittersweet.

"It’s a little exciting, but it’s also kind of sad because next year I’m off to high school and some of my friends are going to different schools. We’re moving on to a whole new level."

Secondary school pupils have finished for the year, but primary and intermediate schools still have until next Friday to close their doors for 2019.
