Season's greetings

Dunedin residents waited patiently for a flight from Auckland to arrive at Dunedin Airport this morning.

They are among hundreds of people who will welcome home family members from around the world today, for Christmas and summer holidays.

Denise (above left) and Andrea Benwell waited with excitement for their son/brother to arrive from Auckland at Dunedin Airport this morning.

Maybe it was the way they were dressed, but when he finally did arrive, he pretended not to know them. It multiplied the festive cheer for everyone in the waiting area. 

This ground crew member at Dunedin Airport (right) got giggles from pilots and waiting families alike, as she directed an Airbus A320 from Auckland in to its gate.
