Seeing the lights

The Christmas tree is up in Dunedin’s Octagon and contractors at the weekend were applying the finishing touches.

The tree will be lit up at a ceremony on Saturday.

A community event, including carols, is to start at 6.30pm on Saturday and the lighting of the Christmas tree is due at 9.30pm.

The annual Dunedin Santa parade takes place the following day along George St.
