State Highway 88 is blocked both ways near Ravensbourne after a car rolled this evening.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokeswoman Lyn Crosson said firefighters were on site, near the Ravensbourne Boating Club, administering first aid to the driver.
They were notified of the incident at 7.30pm.
When crews arrived and realised the driver was not trapped, further vehicles were called off, she said.
Police are also at the scene.
NZTA warned drivers to expect delays.
