About 250 sore-thighed climbers traversed up and down the steps of Forsyth Barr Stadium for an hour and helped to raise $45,000 for Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand.
Head of marketing and fundraising Leanne Tiscornia said there were some great costumes and creative team names at the event. These included the Red Hot Chilli Steppers, Stop and Stair, Cirque du Sore Legs and Stair it in the Face. It was a "great day" with families and serious athletes. "Some of them look really tired as they come across the line and some are very fit."
