Tools, medication and food taken

Dunedin police are investigating burglaries committed over the past two days, including the theft of gardening tools and supplies from a shed in Halfway Bush.

Sergeant Steve Aitken said the home owners in Stevens St heard banging outside in the early hours of the morning but "thought nothing of it'' at the time.

They awoke to find the shed had been entered and items taken. Inquiries were continuing.

Between 5.30am and 7.30am this morning, food was taken from a freezer at a Hillary St home in the suburb of Liberton.

The home owner had secured the property when he left about 5am and returned later to discover the burglary, police said.

In Waikari, medication and electrical supplies were taken from a property in Helensburgh Rd about 3am today.
