Traffic diverted after Southern Motorway crash

Traffic was being diverted after a serious crash on Dunedin's Southern Motorway this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to a crash on the motorway just after 4pm, Southern District Command Centre district deployment co-ordinator, Senior Sergeant Brian Benn, said.

The northbound vehicle had been towing a trailer with a 4WD on it when it crashed in wet conditions on the motorway between Saddle Hill and Fairfield.

Northbound traffic was diverted through Fairfield while emergency services were at the scene, he said.
