It was a big day for Bluff broadcaster Marcus Lush - confirmation of a new job, a stolen car, and his son beginning to walk.

The host of RadioLive breakfast will move to NewsTalk ZB late next year as host of a night show, it was confirmed yesterday.

Lush (49), whose RadioLive show will be replaced by a new Paul Henry-fronted television/radio breakfast show next year, will take over ZB night duties from Kerre McIvor, who will move to the afternoon slot.

However, other things occupied Lush yesterday as he live-tweeted a search for his stolen vehicle.

''My car has been stolen from Bluff ... , Silver Jimny ... Please keep an eye out for it .. Reward ... Please retweet!'', he asked of his almost 30,000 followers on the social media site.

Three hours and 47 retweets later he confirmed the Suzuki - with a Rhino sticker on the side - had been recovered.

However a baby seat, an RM Williams boot, a bag, and a Swanndri jersey by Karen Walker were missing.

Police, who had fingerprinted the recovered vehicle, confirmed the vehicle was taken between 10pm on Wednesday and 5am yesterday, but later located nearby, Senior Sergeant Craig Brown, of Dunedin, said.

Another vehicle - a Holden Rodeo ute - was also taken in the town that same night.

The vehicle was also recovered.

Lush was happy the thieves didn't take a USB stick featuring his son's birth.

''Partner happy that hasn't been uploaded to YouTube,'' he tweeted.

His son capped off a memorable day for the broadcaster, who confirmed the toddler had begun walking.
