Video: Polar plunge at St Clair

More than 200 people braved the chilly waters at St Clair beach, in Dunedin, yesterday for the annual midwinter polar plunge.

"Mermaids" Laura Chaloner (left) and Katie Diggleman were among those who dressed up to splash about in the freezing conditions.

Further south at Kaka Point about 40 people braved the chilly conditions while 50 took the plunge in Oamaru.
