Card editor, Dunedin poet Ruth Arnison, said a few of the winter and spring editions had been sent recently to Scott Base.
The cards were also sent to Samoa, after Mrs Arnison asked for permission to use a poem by Emma Kruse Va'ai, who is the deputy vice-chancellor of the National University of Samoa.
The Otago Poems in the Waiting Room, which began last year, is modelled on a United Kingdom project which has been running for 10 years and provides a free source of well-chosen poetry.
The print-run for the seasonal cards has now increased from 500 to 2000 and their destinations include doctors' surgeries and rest-homes in Dunedin, Central and South Otago, and Southland.
Mrs Arnison also provides a separate print run for an Auckland private hospital.
Funding from the Bendigo Valley Sports and Charity Foundation ensured there would be at least another two seasons of cards, she said.
