Viewing the work of Dunedin artist Marilynn Webb during Art Night at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery yesterday is Jen Shelzitski.

Art Night was once a regular occurrence called Third Thursdays when it hosted live music and food for families and friends to come and enjoy after hours.

Visitor programme co-ordinator Mya Morrison-Middleton said it was ‘‘pretty special’’ to have to event brought back in this way.

Attendees enjoyed food provided by Yours Cafe, interactive activities, music and drinks — including a cocktail inspired by Webb’s art.

"Marilynn, she's got a whole series about food and recipes — she was a really famous host. So, I thought it'd be good to do something that was about hospitality."

Webb’s show was the only exhibit open on the first floor where guests could have items screen-printed with her designs.
