Escape from the piercing chill

I wonder, will it ever stop snowing?

Alone shovelling it; day in, day out, covering the driveway, yet still growing.

Blinding. I can no longer see the route.

How does one escape from the piercing chillof the winter blast's bite? Warm bed beckonsbut despite my persistence, strength and will, pain relinquished in but a few seconds.

When hark! A taunting knock rings through the room.

Rest my ear on the door, peek out and see.

Silence, cold silence, it eerily looms.

Lures me out, colour stolen from me,I lie trapped under this unyielding weight.

Silence. I close my eyes and suffocate.
