A four month old baby is dead after a car smashed into a tree in Gisborne this morning.
Two women, aged 29 and 49, were extracted from the wrecked vehicle by emergency services. Their conditions were not known.
The accident occurred around 6am at the intersection of Farmer and Matawai roads, Gisborne.
No further details were known.
