Drysdale escape serious injury in South Korea crash

Olympic gold medallist Mahe Drysdale has escaped serious injury after crashing into a truck on a training ride in South Korea on Monday.

The 34-year-old was training for the upcoming world rowing championships when the crash occurred and it will not affect his participation in the event.

Despite some bruising and grazes to his knees and knuckles, Drysdale hasn't missed any training but will likely stay off the bike until after the world champs.

It's the second cycling accident Drysdale has had in the last 14 months, after injuring his shoulder in a crash that forced him to miss the final World Cup regatta ahead of the London Olympics last year.

Drysdale will contest the men's single sculls heats on Sunday afternoon.
