Heavy fog delayed flights in and out of Auckland today and slowed busy peak-hour motorway traffic to a crawl.
By 8am two domestic flights had been cancelled and seven flights delayed, although Auckland International Airport said no international flights had been affected.
On the Auckland harbour bridge motorists drove up the south bound lanes from the North, emerged in brilliant sunlight at the top of the bridge, only to drive back into fog on the city side.
Fog also covered much of the harbour.
