Police are appealing to the public for help after a man sexually assaulted a girl in Christchurch yesterday.
The 15-year-old girl was attacked from behind while walking along Selwyn Street in Sydenham at 6.30pm.
Christchurch police said the girl was dragged into the grounds of Christchurch South Intermediate School where she was sexually assaulted.
The man was believed to have left the school grounds by the Selwyn Street exit.
The offender was possibly wearing a hooded sweatshirt.
Police would like to hear from a man who was wearing shorts and walking a white labrador dog south on Selwyn Street around the time of the attack.
