The founder of Ish Entertainment, Michael Hirschorn, whose production credits include TV shows such as ''Paris Hilton's British Best Friend'' and ''Rock of Love'', has met agents and network bosses in an attempt to get Henry on US television.
"He's a little bit unique, in the sense that he comes from halfway around the world, and essentially nobody's heard of him before," Mr Hirschorn told the New York Observer.
Mr Hirschorn said prominent entertainment and sports agency, the Creative Artists Agency, was interested in representing Henry and early reactions from television executives had been positive, adding that "in some cases there's also a certain level of fear".
The most likely scenario for Henry was some kind of talk show but scripted or reality shows were also an option, he said.
Henry resigned from TVNZ last October after a flood of complaints over remarks he made about Governor-General Sir Anand Satyanand and his mocking of the name of Delhi Chief minister Sheila Dikshit.
Mr Hirschorn said Henry's "implosion" may have been on purpose and provoked by boredom.
"My suspicion is he was eager to get himself fired and [was] probably bored out of his skull."
