Teen robbery near Queenstown school leaves victim 'extremely shaken'

A teenager has been arrested for allegedly robbing another teen in the Queenstown suburb of Shotover Country.

Police were notified about the incident in Coventry Cres, near Shotover Primary School, about 4:40pm.

“The alleged offenders reportedly assaulted the victim and took a small amount of cash,” a police spokesman said.

“While the victim did not require medical assistance, they were understandably extremely shaken.”

A 16-year-old male is due to appear in Queenstown’s Youth Court.

Police are trying to locate the second person involved in the robbery.
