QUEENSTOWN’S Skyline Enterprises board is floating the idea of a new connector road in the resort, to help ease some of the congestion pains. Dubbed the 'High Line Rd', it's proposed the 12km road would connect with the Grant Rd roundabout, on State Highway 6, skirt around the Waipuna Rise development site and link to Hansen Rd. From there, it could go behind Lake Johnson and travel around the Lake Whakatipu side of Queenstown Hill, terminating at Hallenstein St. Skyline CEO Geoff McDonald suggests the road, which could carry up to 2000 vehicles an hour, could conceivably be built for up to $120 million.
