Brent Keith, 57, appeared in the Oamaru District Court yesterday and was sentenced by Judge Campbell Savage to three months’ community detention and 12 months’ intensive supervision after pleading guilty to doing an indecent act.
Keith entered the public toilets in Itchen St just after 6pm on February 7, a police summary of facts states.
The victim, who was not known to Keith, was using the toilet in one of the cubicles at the time.
Keith stood next to the cubicle and pressed his face against the gap between the wall so he could glimpse the victim.
He then performed a sex act on himself.
The victim hurried out of the bathroom shocked at what was happening, while Keith smiled at him.
