A 22-year-old man is dead after his vehicle struck a tree in Palmerston North last night.
The crash happened on Kaimanawa St in suburban Kelvin Grove about 8.15pm.
The front seat passenger sustained minor injuries but discharged himself from Palmerston North Hospital last night.
The victim's name was expected to be released today.
