Police have released the name of a 52-year-old man who died after his car crashed into a power pole near Marton yesterday morning.
He was Macrae (Mac) De-Thierry, of Marton.
The crash happened on a straight stretch of Wellington Rd, south of the Rangitikei township, about 6.45am.
Police said yesterday Mr De-Thierry may have lost control after swerving to avoid a jogger.
