A motorcycle rider has died in a crash with a truck in Waikato today.
The 45-year-old biker sustained fatal injuries in the collision, which occurred at the intersection of Wardville Rd and Tower Rd, near Waharoa, police said.
The man was in a group of three men, who were all riding motorcycles at the time.
The driver of the truck was "naturally very upset", but was helping police with their investigations, senior sergeant Pete van de Wetering of the Hamilton district command centre said.
It was too early to say what had caused the crash, or to comment on the events leading up to it, he said.
Road blocks have been put in place around the intersection, including Wardville Rd, Tower Rd, Armadale Rd and Manawaru Rd.
Motorists are being urged to be alert and to drive carefully.
