One person is dead and another in a serious condition after a car hit a tree in Pukekohe, south of Auckland, today.
The crash was on the corner of Harris Rd and Edinburgh Rd at 10.40am, police said.
Streets around the intersection remained closed and diversions were in place.
The serious crash unit was investigating.
