Schoolboy faces rape charges

Dressed in his school uniform, a 17-year-old youth appeared in Auckland District Court yesterday on three counts of rape and one of indecent assault.

Judge John Hole granted the youth interim name suppression and he was remanded to re-appear in November The New Zealand Herald reported.

The youth allegedly raped a 19-year-old Auckland woman three times and indecently assaulted her once between August 22 and August 23.

He also allegedly indecently assaulted her, the New Zealand Herald reported.

The youth was granted bail subject to three conditions:

* That he did not try to contact the alleged victim

* That he surrendered his passport and did not attempt to get a new one.

* That he live at a south Auckland address, believed to be his father's.
