A 17-year-old has been charged with murder over fatal stabbing of a man in Wainuiomata earlier this month.
The body of Daniel Te Mataku was discovered on Wainuiomata Rd about 9am on April 2.
The defendant was due to make their first appearance in the Hutt Valley Youth Court on Friday, Detective Inspector Nick Pritchard said.
Pritchard earlier said the death was first treated as unexplained, but police later upgraded it to a homicide.
