Three teenagers who bashed a young New Zealand man to death have all been given jail sentences, but one will be eligible for parole next year.
Christopher Leicester, 20, was beaten to death by three 16-year-old boys at Woolooware, in Sydney's south, on November 27, 2007.
Two of the trio, who cannot be named, pleaded guilty to his manslaughter.
In the NSW Supreme Court on Friday, one was sentenced to a minimum of five years imprisonment.
With time already served he will be eligible for parole in November 2012.
The second boy who pleaded guilty was sentenced to a minimum of three years, and will be eligible for parole in November 2010.
In his sentencing remarks, Justice Peter Hall said the attack was "wholly unprovoked and wholly unjustified".
The third boy, who was convicted after pleading not guilty to manslaughter, was sentenced to at least six years in jail.
He will be eligible for parole in 2013.
One of his supporters shouted, "This is bullsh**t" and hurled abuse at the judge as the sentence was handed down.
Justice Hall said the boy had shown "callousness and cowardice that must be abhorred in any civilised society".
Outside court, the victim's father, Ged Leicester, said it was difficult to relive what had happened to his son.
"It's that emotional time again, that old roller coaster ride where things get a bit much to handle," he told reporters.
"Your sleep goes out the door, you think about saying things you know you shouldn't say."
