Jiayi Li's body was found in the boot of her car
The 19-year-old west Auckland student is due in Auckland District Court charged with being an accessory after the fact of Ms Li's murder. He was arrested last night.
Ms Li's body was found in the boot of her car in Hamilton on Wednesday morning after locals called police, saying the car may have been there for up to 12 days.
Police said she may have been killed within a day or two of her disappearance on May 19.
Chinese students, aged 18 and 20, appeared in Auckland District Court on Wednesday charged with the murder and aggravated robbery of Ms Li.
They were remanded in custody and granted name suppression, which ends at 4pm today.
Ms Li's parents are due to arrive in Auckland from China today.
