Two kayakers have been rescued in Northland.
The pair were reported missing in Mahinepua Bay last night at 7pm after they failed to come back to shore.
A Coastguard boat and a Northland Emergency Services Trust helicopter were sent out to find them.
Coastguard northern region duty officer Ray Burge said they were located after a short search and airlifted back to shore.
