A woman has been taken to hospital in a serious condition after she fell on rocks walking along a popular North Shore beach.
A St John spokeswoman said a woman hurt herself on rocks at the northern end of Takapuna beach this afternoon.
A member of the public raised the alarm shortly before 1pm after seeing her take a tumble.
The Fire Service was called to help lift her from where she fell.
The woman was taken to nearby North Shore Hospital for treatment.
